Terms & Conditions
Lipcon, Margulies & Winkleman, P.A., will be sponsoring the Instagram photo contest. The competition is open to passengers and crewmembers around the world, aged 18 years or over. There is no entry fee and no purchase necessary to enter this competition. By entering this competition, an entrant is indicating his/her agreement to be bound by these terms and conditions.
Route to entry for the competition and details of how to enter are listed under the original social media post announcing the contest via the Lipcon, Margulies & Winkleman, P.A’s Instagram Account (https://www.instagram.com/cruiseshiplaw/).
Only one entry will be accepted per person. Multiple entries from the same person will be disqualified. Closing date for entry will be Saturday, October 1, 2022 at 12:00 am EST. After this date the no further entries to the competition will be permitted. No responsibility can be accepted for entries not received for whatever reason.
Competition Rules
The purpose of this photo contest is to make cruise ships safer, educate the public, and identify dangers aboard cruise ships. In furtherance of this purpose, please adhere to the following rules and suggestions: (1) photos must be of existing conditions; (2) conditions must not be created for the purpose of these photos; (3) safety first – please stay away and keep others away from dangerous conditions – no posing; (4) photos must be of actual conditions (not of other photos) and must be original work of the person submitting it; (5) any conditions encountered and photographed should immediately be reported to the cruise line so that they are aware and can make necessary corrections!
- Step 1: Post a photo of the most dangerous cruise ship condition you have seen on your personal Instagram account
- Step 2: In the caption, tell us the date, time, location and name of the cruise line and ship where the photo was taken
- Step 3: USE the hashtag #DangerousCruiseShip and tag @cruiseshiplaw in the caption and/or photo. Then visit us at @cruiseshiplaw
- Step 4: Follow our account
- Step 5: Like the Photo Contest post and tag two friends in the comment section!
Post your pictures between Thursday, September 1 – Friday, September 30, 2022
The winners will be announced Monday, October 17, 2022
Please note, the winner will be paid via Paypal, so a Paypal account is required to collect the prize, if chosen.
Photography Rules
Photographs must be a single work of original material taken by the Entrant. By entering the Contest, the Entrant represents, acknowledges and warrants that the submitted photograph is an original work created solely by the Entrant, that the photograph does not infringe on the copyrights, trademarks, moral rights, rights of privacy/publicity or intellectual property rights of any person or entity, and that no other party has any right, title, claim or interest in the photograph. The photograph must not, in the sole and unfettered discretion of the Sponsor, contain obscene, provocative, defamatory, sexually explicit, or otherwise objectionable or inappropriate content. When photographing the work of others, it must be as an object in its environment and not a full-frame close up of another person’s art. All submissions to the Contest remain the property of the Entrant; however, as a condition of entering the contest the Entrant grants Lipcon, Margulies & Winkleman, P.A. a perpetual, royalty-free, fully transferable, unconditional, non-exclusive, worldwide right to reproduce any submission an unlimited number of times in any and all media for any editorial, commercial, promotional, or trade purposes. Additional terms and conditions for submissions will be included in the submission process.
Competition Prize
The prizes are as follows:
- 1st place winner will receive $500.00
- 2nd place winner will receive $200.00
- 3rd place winner will receive $100.00
Winners will be chosen by a panel of qualified judges, determined by the Sponsor (Lipcon, Margulies & Winkleman, P.A.) in its sole discretion, will select three (3) entrants with the best photo submissions from among all submissions received between Thursday, September 1 – Friday, September 30, 2022, based on the following criteria:
- Photo demonstrates dangerous cruise ship conditions
The winners will be paid via Paypal, so a Paypal account is required to collect the prize, if chosen.
The winners will be announced Monday, October 17, 2022 and will be notified via Instagram within 15 days of the closing date. If the winners cannot be contacted or do not claim the prize within 30 days of notification, we reserve the right to withdraw the prize from the winners and pick replacement winners. The sponsor (Lipcon, Margulies & Winkleman, P.A.) will notify the winner how the prize will be delivered. The sponsor’s (Lipcon, Margulies & Winkleman, P.A.) decision in respect of all matters to do with the competition will be final and no correspondence will be entered into. By entering this competition, an entrant is indicating his/her agreement to be bound by these terms and conditions.
The winners agree to the use of his/her name and image in any publicity material, as well as their entry.
Entry into the competition will be deemed as acceptance of these terms and conditions.
