Atlantis Hotels is a subsidiary of Kerzner International, a global developer responsible for many destination resorts and ultra-luxury hotels, and currently operates four locations in the Bahamas, China, and Dubai. When guests of these hotels arrive, the last thing they expect is a life-threatening or fatal accident, especially one that could have been avoided with adequate reasonable security and safety precautions.
Opening a legal fight against an international corporation or their subsidiary is an overwhelming step to take. The entire process can be frustrating and stressful — especially as a family tries to seek closure and healing following the tragic loss of a loved one. Working with an experienced hotel injury law firm like Lipcon Margulies & Winkleman, P.A. is one of the best ways to move forward with your case without letting it take the front seat to your life.
Our firm has over 165 years of combined experience, along with 3 attorneys named “Best Lawyers”® by US News & World Report and our firm “Best Law Firms”® by US News & World Report. Edmonton Girl Drowns at Atlantis Waterpark in the Bahamas
On April 8, 2011, a 5-year-old girl from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada was declared dead four days after being pulled from a pool at the Atlantis location in the Bahamas. This is not the only drowning death at this location: in 2000, a young boy was sucked into a drain while snorkeling in the Aquaventure Water Park lagoon.
At a location that boasts a water park such as Atlantis Paradise Island, the expectation is that proper security, such as adequately trained lifeguards and appropriate ratios of staff to guests, will be enforced at all times to keep everyone safe, but as indicated by these two accidents mentioned above, this is not always the case. After an accident like this, especially one that is outside of the United States, families can be left trying to navigate complicated legal barriers and make sense of foreign law, but with the help of Lipcon Margulies & Winkleman, P.A., you can stay focused on healing from this tragic event while we fight for the money you deserve.
American Tourist Dies In Fatal Jet-Ski Accident In Bahamas
Within 3 hours of arriving in the Bahamas, Anthony Moretti, 44, of Staten Island, New York was killed in a Jet-Ski collision with another vehicle, one that his 13-year-old niece was operating. Unfortunately, water-related deaths are alarmingly common at beach destinations such as Atlantis Paradise Island, but this does not make it any easier for those who have to confront the reality of such a tragic loss.
When working with a team like the award-winning lawyers at Lipcon Margulies & Winkleman, P.A., surviving family members, and loved ones can stay focused on healing from this terrible situation without taking on the additional burden of their legal case. We are uniquely equipped to handle cases such as the aforementioned fatal accidents at Atlantis Paradise Island in the Bahamas. We will be happy to represent your own situation while giving you the emotional space you deserve.
International Hotels Require An International Legal Team
Four Atlantis hotels are located in Dubai, the Bahamas, Greece, and China.
The original Atlantis hotel is located in Dubai and opened in September 2008. It was the first hotel in the Atlantis brand and was followed by the Bahamas location, Paradise Island, in December 2009. The third hotel, Atlantis Sanya, opened its doors in China in May 2013. The most recent addition to the family is Atlantis, The Palm – a luxury resort situated on Dubai’s Palm Jumeirah Island, which opened in September 2014.
A fifth resort, Atlantis Ko Olina Hawaii, is planned in West Oahu, but the project’s future is still unclear.
All of the hotels are luxurious, with state-of-the-art facilities and amenities. They are also all waterparks, which offer a thrilling experience for hotel guests, but introduce substantial risks that can ultimately lead to serious — even fatal — injuries.
