Ximena Castillo is an experienced trial attorney handling passengers’ personal injury, sexual assault, and wrongful death claims, as well as crewmember claims and non- maritime personal injury claims.
Ms. Castillo started her legal career at the Miami- Dade Public Defender’s Office, where she had numerous felony and misdemeanor jury trials to verdict and took hundreds of depositions. Following her time as a Public Defender, Ms. Castillo worked at a top AV rated firm in Miami representing major cruise lines, giving her a unique and advantageous perspective to represent our clients against same. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Castillo focused her practice on complex commercial litigation matters, representing businesses against major companies such as Tesla and Citgo.
Born and raised in Guatemala, Ms. Castillo received a Bachelor of Science in International Business from Lynn University and her Juris Doctorate from the University of Miami School of Law, where she was a member of the International Moot Court Board and a two-time recipient of the HOPE certificate (helping others through pro bono efforts). To date, Ms. Castillo remains involved in the University of Miami’s International Moot Court Program, where she frequently participates as a judge during team practice rounds to prepare students for competitions worldwide. Ms. Castillo also enjoys teaching yoga classes and traveling during her spare time.
